Work with Me 1:1

Psychotherapy and coaching, integrated. For people who are ready to understand themselves more deeply - and to do something with that understanding.

There is a version of your life you are working extraordinarily hard to maintain. High-functioning. Capable. Accomplished. And beneath it - a quiet, persistent sense that something is not quite right. That the pace is unsustainable. That the person achieving all of this is increasingly difficult to recognise.

Most people manage this feeling rather than address it. They optimise, push through, find the next goal. And it works...until it does not. Until the depletion is no longer deniable. Until the achievement feels hollow. Until the gap between who you are in public and who you are privately becomes a weight too heavy to carry alone.

If any part of that resonates, you are in the right place. This is the work that reaches what strategy and willpower cannot. And it begins with a conversation.

This is the work beneath the work.

“You have built something real on the outside. This is the work that builds something real on the inside.”

This is Not
Traditional Therapy

Traditional therapy asks:
what happened, and how do we heal it?
Performance coaching asks:
what do you want, and how do we achieve it?

This work asks something different.

What would it take for the life you are living to be authentically yours? To be free of the patterns you keep repeating without having chosen them. To understand yourself deeply enough that your decisions, your relationships and the direction of your life are no longer simply the product of what you have absorbed, but what you have actually chosen.

Most support offers one of two things: therapy that illuminates without equipping, or coaching that equips without illuminating. I bring both to you. Trained as a clinical psychotherapist, with over a decade of practice and a background in organisational leadership, I works at the intersection of genuine clinical depth and real forward motion - with a directness that means you are never simply having your words reflected back at you. You are working with someone who can see what you cannot yet see, and knows how to work with it.

This form of 1:1 work is for people who are ready to address root causes rather than symptoms - and who understand that genuine change, the kind that reaches the parts of you that willpower and strategy cannot access, requires real, unhurried, psychologically in-depth work.

“Working with Charlotte has been the most significant investment I have made in myself. I came to her feeling like I was doing everything right and still not okay. What I found - and what I continue to find - is a version of myself I didn’t know I had lost.”

How we Work Together

I intentionally work with a small number of individuals at any one time. The kind of attention this work requires - and the kind of change it produces - is not possible in a large caseload.

When we work together, we meet weekly or bi-weekly. We build a picture of where you are, how you got there, and what is actually keeping you stuck; not the surface version, but the real reasons underneath that you may not be aware of. And we work with that, carefully and at depth, over time.

This is not a short-term fix. Real change, the kind that holds,  takes time. Most people I work with commit to six months or more, because that is what it takes for the work to reach the places that matter. Not months of talking in circles, but months of genuine, directed, psychologically in-depth progress.

INITIAL CONSULTATION & ON GOING SESSIONS

Our work begins with a thorough initial online consultation session to understand where you are, what support you are seeking and how I may be best placed to do that. This session is standalone, with no obligation to continue if you do not feel comfortable, or that I am the right fit. If we decide to continue, sessions are held weekly or bi-weekly, online or in-person at my private practice in Buckinghamshir

DEPTH & DIRECTION OF OUR WORK

Our work integrates psychotherapy and coaching, offering both depth and direction rather than one at the expense of the other. Together, we establish a clear sense of where we are heading, with thoughtful markers to recognise when meaningful shifts are taking place. Alongside this, we remain responsive to what emerges, allowing the work to evolve with both structure and sensitivity.

HELD WITH INTEGRITY & INTENTION

You are offered meaningful access between sessions when it matters, held within clear and respectful boundaries that support the integrity of the work. For those who wish to go deeper, optional half-day intensive sessions provide the space for a more immersive, intentional pace. Our work is held in strict confidence,, including supervsion, creating a secure and discreet space for exploration.

What Brings People to 1:1 Work

People come to this work from many different places. These are the ones I encounter most often.

Mirror In Field

FEELING LIKE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE

There is the version of you that functions in the world - capable, composed, getting things done. And there is the version that exists privately, that is much less certain, much more tired, and much more alone in it. Carrying that gap is exhausting in a way that is hard to explain.

PATTERNS YOU STRUGGLE TO BREAK

The same relationship dynamic, in different people. The same self-sabotage, in different circumstances. The same inner critic, louder than ever. You know the pattern. You understand it intellectually. And you cannot shift it on your own. And you don't need to.

STRESS THAT RUNS THE SHOW

Perfectionism. Overthinking. The feeling of waiting for something to go wrong. A baseline hum of worry that you have learned to function around but never quite turned off. Stress and anxiety that has become a way of life and is now impacting your health, relationships and life quality.

FATIGUE THAT DOESN’T SHIFT

Not the kind that a holiday fixes. The deeper kind - where the exhaustion has become structural, where you are going through the motions of a life that once had energy and meaning, and wondering quietly what happened to the person you used to be.

ACHIEVING AND STILL NOT OKAY

You are doing well by most measures, but something still feels wrong within yourself. The fulfilment you expected to arrive with the success has not come, or it came and went quickly. This is one of the most disorienting experiences there is - and one of the most common.

EXISTENTIAL CRISIS OF IDENTITY

Your role changes. Your relationship changes. The structure that told you who you were is no longer there. And the question underneath - who am I, really, outside of what I do and who I am to other people - turns out to be harder than expected.

"The most important decision you will ever make is not what you do with your life. It is who you are while you are doing it."

How it Works

UNDERSTAND THE FULL PICTURE

Before we go anywhere, I want to understand where you actually are. Not the presenting problem - but what is underneath it. The patterns, the history, the beliefs and the ways of coping that have brought you to exactly this point. This is the foundation everything else is built on.

DO THE REAL WORK

This is where we go beneath the surface. Into the parts of your experience that are shaping your choices, your relationships and your sense of yourself - often without you realising it. It is not always comfortable. But it is the work that makes a lasting difference, and it is done carefully, at a pace that is right for you.

LIVE IT DIFFERENTLY

The goal is not just understanding. It is change that you can actually feel and live - in how you make decisions, how you relate to the people around you, how you experience yourself from the inside. Not a shift that lasts a few weeks. One that becomes part of how you move through the world.

The Case for going Deeper..

11 years

The average time people wait between first experiencing psychological difficulty and seeking support. By then, patterns are entrenched, relationships have been shaped by them, and the cost has already been paid. (WHO)

75%

Of people who enter 1:1 psychotherapy experience meaningful, positive change - not temporary relief, but actual, lasting shifts in how they think, feel and relate to themselves and the world. (American Psychological Association)

96%

of those in 1:1 psychodynamic therapy consistently improved after sessions finished - setting in motion psychological processes that keep developing long after you leave the room.
(Shedler, 2010)

6-12 months

Begin the conversation

I work with a small number of people at any one time. Not because of constraint, but because the work requires it. Genuine attention, real psychological presence, and the consistency that makes deep change possible cannot be spread too thin.

If you are reading this and something resonates, the right next step is a conversation. There is no obligation in that - just the chance to understand whether this is what you are looking for.
